New due date (Jan 3rd) for books due during winter break

Books currently on loan that are due to be returned during the University winter break (between Friday, December 23rd and Monday, January 2nd) have had their due dates extended. These items can be returned on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012.

!! upcoming Library e-resource outages on Tuesday, 1/2/2012 !!

The University's IT department will perform network resource upgrades on Tuesday, January 2nd. During this day there will be lengthy service outages; these will effect all services accessed via your USciences login such as library databases, WebAdvisor and Angel among others. In addition, university web pages including the library website will fail to load.

These outages will effect on- and off-campus students, so please plan accordingly. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes to library patrons conducting research. Please use Ask a Librarian to send us your questions or feedback. (http://ask.library.usciences.edu/index.php)

 

Important Note About Newspaper Access

NewsBank, the vendor that previously provided content from the New York Times, Washington Post and Boston Globe, has informed us today that these papers have ceased providing content to NewsBank.  The library is investigating other means of providing electronic access to these newspapers. (Note: The Philadelphia Inquirer is still available through NewsBank.)
